#ParetoWrapsUp2022

THANK YOU

Employees at Pareto personally came together to launch the Christmas Pareto Initiative #ParetoWrapsUp2022

We were able to source, pack, wrap and deliver Christmas Gift Packages to 300 primary school children around the UK, with help from our wider network and supporters.

WHY? This year as the cost-of-living rises, many families are having to prioritise whether they can buy food or put the heating on. This means, there will be many parents and carers struggling to provide at Christmas for their children. We didn't like the sound of that so we decided to try and make what difference we could. Pareto FM committed to providing 100 Christmas Present Packages, but with the help of many reached 300.

We contacted schools that were selected by various Pareto contracts across the UK and Europe, asking them how many children they had in attendance who were unlikely to receive Christmas presents, once they gave us this number we added siblings and sent them the required number of packages.

We've stopped collecting for this year (2022) as the Schools soon close for Christmas but the more help, the merrier. So if you would like to help us in 2023 to reach even more Children, please register your interest for 2023 below. Everyone is welcome.

OUR PARETO
PEOPLE (ELVES)

We're sharing what we did so you can easily do it too. We are also happy to partner up and do it together...

HOW TO

1. Confirm the items you want in the package. Our packages varied but included most of the following items:

  • A Book

  • Water Bottle

  • Notepad

  • Pack of Pens/Pencils (some had both)

  • A Themed Pencil

  • A Multipen

  • Sensory Ball

  • Fidget Toy

  • A Craft Activity

Consider the age of who you want to donate to; abilities & interests. Ask Teachers, Parents & Carers if you are not sure.

2. Contact your selected schools as early as possible. Ask them how many packages they need for Children who may not get presents & whether those children have any young siblings. (Do not forget siblings!) They are busy, it may take some persistence, but trust us, they know... also emails are probably best. Also confirm when they close for Christmas.

3. Source the items (think about quality & price) and get them delivered to where you will be packing. We used Amazon, The Works (books, craft sets, pens & pencils), HobbyCraft (craft sets, pens & pencils) and smaller affordable shops to source our items.

4. Get as many people as you can to help wrap. Choose a day with no snow or strikes.

5. Start a Mobile Production Line. Each person should be in charge of placing a particular item on the pile to be wrapped. Trust us, its quicker this way and nothing gets missed. Lay the cut paper down first (or get gift bags). 1 roll (7m) of paper wraps about 20 gifts (size depending obviously).

6. Arrange your delivery as early as possible, and remember some schools close a week before Christmas. Also think about this when you choose where to pack, we had packing stations in Manchester & London.

DONATIONS

We wanted to provide full transparency when it came to money, similar to when we did The Homeless Initiative.

All of the donations were spent on the items. Below you will find a spreadsheet of all the items purchased or donated, another spreadsheet of the donations and a gallery of receipts. Enjoy!

In short:

We purchased 2704 items

We collected £2878 through donations

Website donation processing fees were £24.37

The total spend was £2874.41

We overspent by £20.78.
